Education estates
Inspect the building without disrupting the school day.
The St Michael’s case study records a full external-envelope inspection completed in one visit during the school day, with no disruption to teaching.
01Documented example
A school-day inspection with a clear maintenance decision.
This page is grounded in the published St Michael’s C of E Primary School case study. It shows what was captured and what decision the evidence supported; it is not a promise about every building or estate.

02What the case study documents
The condition problem, the capture and the result.
St Michael’s is a Church of England primary school in Hertfordshire. The school needed a condition assessment of its external building envelope, but school buildings present specific inspection challenges: access must not disrupt the school day, safeguarding policies restrict who can be on site and when, and budgets are tightly constrained.
Scaffolding a school roof during term time is expensive, disruptive, and raises safeguarding questions. The school needed comprehensive condition data without the cost and operational burden of traditional access.

St Michael’s, Woolmer Green C of E VA Primary School
Ovrsite captured 383 high-resolution images of the full external envelope in a single visit. The inspection was completed during the school day with no disruption to teaching, no playground closures, and no requirement for scaffolding or access equipment.
03Decision enabled
Evidence that can be used, not just stored.
What the client received
The school received a graded condition report covering the full building envelope, including areas that had never been formally inspected. The data gave the school’s governing body and the diocese a factual basis for maintenance planning and any capital funding applications.
The documented decision
A factual maintenance and capital-funding case without disrupting teaching or compromising safeguarding.
- Dated condition evidence
- Located findings and imagery
- A clear next step for the estate
