What you will do
- Plan and conduct site-specific UAV missions for commercial, residential and public buildings, following the applicable category, authorisation and Ovrsite procedures.
- Assess airspace, weather, access, people on site and ground risks; brief the site team and make a clear go or no-go decision.
- Capture complete, usable visual imagery and, where trained and specified, thermal imagery to the agreed inspection plan.
- Keep flight logs, checklists, permissions, equipment records and incident or near-miss reports accurate and current.
- Check image quality and coverage before leaving the site, and hand over files with the context needed for processing and human review.
- Care for aircraft, batteries, sensors and field equipment, and help improve capture methods through practical feedback.
02 / What you bring
Essential experience
- A current A2 Certificate of Competency (A2 CofC) at minimum, plus a valid Flyer ID.
- Practical UAV flying experience and sound judgement around people, structures, weather and changing site conditions.
- Ability to plan a flight, work to a site brief and refuse or pause a flight that cannot be conducted safely.
- Careful image capture and file handling, with an eye for coverage, focus, metadata and traceability.
- Clear communication with site contacts and colleagues, and the ability to travel regularly to UK client sites.
03 / Useful extras
Helpful experience
- A current GVC or relevant Remote Pilot Certificate for work under an applicable Specific Category authorisation.
- Experience inspecting roofs, façades or other built assets, including work around occupied sites.
- Training and experience in radiometric thermal capture and its limitations.
- Experience with photogrammetry, flight planning software or repeatable survey routes.
04 / A good outcome
What success looks like
You will leave each site with a safe, documented mission and an organised capture set that another reviewer can understand and use. An A2 CofC alone does not authorise every mission; we match each flight to the required qualifications and operational permissions.
Full time role. UK client site travel is part of the work. The usual work base, salary and other terms will be discussed during recruitment. We welcome applications from people whose experience meets the essentials even if they do not have every helpful extra.
